An Open Letter To Girls Like Me

Image
You can make it. It might seem like it’ll take forever. Somedays you’ll fall. But you can get back up again. If you can’t get the words out of your mouth, write them on paper until it screams for you. If you feel alone in the dark, remember you have the light of your Savior to brighten the path.   I get it. If you’re anything like me at all, you’re sometimes the girl who avoids the spotlight, but wants to be noticed so badly. The girl who wants to see everyone smile, but it’s not always easy to do so yourself all the time. Ok! So I thought I'd go back to my roots today and write some book reviews. It's been awhile since we did these, so I thought I'd do a few mini ones and also throw in an update on how my reading goals are going. If you guys remember from my first post of the year with Vicky (who promises to write for us soon -_-), I made a deal with myself to keep track of my reading and also to read 120+ books this 2018! The Hate U Give  by: Angie Thomas             I avoided this book for SO long ...

She was corrected and they suggested she use 'people kind' to be more inclusive. Along with this, they've changed the lyrics of their national anthem to be more 'gender neutral'. Please keep in mind, what comes next is MY opinion, and however strongly I express it, I do not expect all of you to agree with me.     Opinions on inclusivity and gender neutrality in our world seem to be the core measure of character nowadays. Lord forbid one dare to suggest that the changing of a word simply because it references to men is completely ridiculous. Nor may one even dream of suggesting that the change of something as important as a national anthem is a...
