If you follow my instagram, (@thepageflippers)  you know that for the last month or so I've been flailing constantly about Leigh Bardugo's books.Recently I just finished Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom I'm kind of late to the game reading them, but I loved them just as much as the people who got me to read them did! The magic system was IN-CRE-DI-BLE. The characters? Soft souls at heart who were slightly corrupted by their situation. Let's get started!    I am NOT an organized person. My back pack at school is generally the punchline of many jokes with my friends, I am constantly loosing stuff to the point my teachers KNOW when I'm looking for something around the school. But. I am very organized with TIME. SCHEDULES. LISTS. I will know mine, my family's and two of my best friend's. So I've managed to work blogging into that schedule more or less. And up until 2 weeks ago, I had devotionals scheduled in well too.    Here is the honest, brutal truth. I have tunnel vision. Badly. I'll get one thing in my head and will focus on that for days, weeks even on end. And lately, school has taken up every inch of space in my line of sight, minus a little for writing. My devotionals got pushed out because I shifted my focus and efforts. I forgot that effort in spending time with God is the first step in getting everything else to go right. Welcome to another post with me, Kit on The Page Flippers! I've been super busy at school lately but I decided to sit down and write a blog post for today. It's not really on books, this is more of a life post, and I hope it speaks to someone out there. Early yesterday, I was listening to some music on my phone. So this is my first read after a VERY long slump which only consisted of only reading for my honors reading class. *sarcastic voice* Fun. Turtles All The Way Down was recommended by...well...everyone, and I admit I went in with VERY high expectations. Especially since I've never read John Green before, and he is basically King of Romantic Contemporaries and Destroyer of Readers' Souls and all that fun stuff. So I went in expecting to be rocked.     A Nanowrimo month ended yesterday and I'm here to give my report. Of which being zero. This was a really busy, hectic month for me. I went on vacation, worked at a summer camp, and had surgery. Needless to say, I didn't have a novel ready by the end. Or the beginning for that matter. I had, to put it lightly, writer's block. All my ideas fell through.     While I was on vacation however, I decided to try and force an idea out of my brain. I don't know about you guys, but I'm not exactly a 'take a stroll and find inspiration person'. I'd get distracted by the puppy on the corner. So on the car ride there, I closed my eyes and let my mind roam free for awhile. It's funny how the ride mood, and the right tricks can get your creative juices flowing!    Ok, so this review is a little out of place because I never reviewed the first one but I HAD TO because I love this book so much my heart shattered and is somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic. It's Legendary by Stephanie Garber (check out the post on our IG @thepageflippers) and is the sequel to Caraval .            Picture this. The sun is shining. The palm trees are the only sound around. The ocean is write in front of you, as blue as it can get in the Caribbean. You just applied some sunscreen so-points for self care, you're ready to tan as you open a great book. That's the scene I was in about 3 weeks ago. I was lounging on the sandy beaches of Jamaica for my summer vacation. It was great. But that's not the point. Let's zoom in on our mental picture. The book on my lap. It's called:                             Lies Young Women Believe    It's by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth and Dannah Gresh, and was a gift to me from my mom. I. Loved. It. With. A. Passion. The book focuses on lies that young Christian women believe (and NON christian too but you get my point) and how God's Word and his truth sets them free.
